its close to 6am here in coogee australia.  i have been up since 4:30a, which is better than the last couple of days.  3am can make for a very long day!

been very busy at work.  keeping myself busy in the evenings, or what i have of them.  the last couple i have worked late and only to come back to my room and crash.  didnt even eat dinner the other night, no wait, i drank a beer from the mini bar.

i am suppose to be packing for my trip…the one i leave for on thursday.  instead i am surfing the net.  you know that exercise i like to do often? 

i found this website and skirt pattern.  you know, to sew.  i havent sewn anything in years.  just last thursday night, my sister, mother & i were cutting out fabric to make capes for my neice and nephew for the harry potter event.  and ever since then its been on the brain.  i want to make something. 

lets see what the trip brings to me for inspiration & motivation.

so the UK peeps finally arrived.  they are finally home.  we are all very happy.  they are happy too, even though they left behind ‘king daddy’ or geno as we call him.  and they closed a very important chapter of their lives.  they seemed to be relaxed and at home at grandma’s. 

she just cracks me up!  all i see is a cheesey superhero tv show and even cheesier them song is playing!

decided to take a jaunt around the neighborhood today to work on fine-tuning my new craft.  let me say this, its 95 & sticky outside, and i decide to take an hour walk???  luckily at the end of the walk, i stopped at this park down the street and they had these fountains….seriously wanted to stick my head in it!

 

as i sit my balmy 72 degree house cooling off, i have loaded my pictures and i have about 3 out of 30 that i can say are flickr worthy.

independence day July 4, 2007

today is july 4th.  independence day.  a good day. 

yesterday, i trekked downtown chicago to see the fireworks.  i havent been downtown on july 3rd in years.  this was my first time for the fireworks.  was a great time.  was able to sit on a boat in the desable harbor and enjoy the nice evening with family, and watch an awesome fireworks show.   and think about 200-some-odd years ago, some men were lighting off what they now call fireworks, celebrating. 

amazing we are still doing the same thing today.

surfing again today after doing some work…an exercise i like to do quite often.  just surf the web, read other people’s stories.  see what they do on a nice and sunny sunday afternoon (trust me…i’ll be heading to the patio here shortly to finish my book).
