spent the weekend in upstate new york visiting my aunt, uncle & cousin. always enjoy being there – so peaceful – so beautiful.
long story short, i have an older brother. this weekend i was able to see him/meet him for the first time in my life.
please meet jeff, as we call him when he is spoken of, which is very very rarely.
i cried. my mother, the diva, the one who could come across as the most uncompassionate person, cried. she even said that she misses him. very emotional day.
my favorite photo from the weekend, besides the one above:
on top of all of this, i was able to read my latest body & soul magazine from cover to cover. my favorite part of the mag? the last page. the ten thoughts on whole living. this month:
-ease into the day slowly; take a few minutes each morning to gently wake up.
-be straightforward. an honest response often trumps a clever one.
-discover new ways to share the things you love.
-worry breeds anxiety; intuition invites calm.
-create habits that help you live sustainably – wherever you are.
-dont second guess; sometimes the best idea is the one that comes first.
-respond to life with openness and curiosity.
-dont wait until you have no room left in your day to breathe; make space right now.
-anger has a way of evaporating in the face of compassion.
-find pleasure in the simplest tasks.
i like these this month. well i liked them in august too!
good question for everyone…what is one of your simplest tasks that bring you pleasure and enjoyment? tonight it would be, reflecting on this weekend, sitting with my mother in an airport, being able to just be ourselves, together.
