mexico June 30, 2008

i then had to go to mexico for work on june 10th and returned june 21st.  what an amazing time.  this trip was like no other.  i mean each trip i take for work is so different from the others.  sydney, for example, was just what i needed at that time.  i needed to get away from my life.  i needed to see something new, do something totally unlike me.  this trip, mexico, it was to reassure me that this is what i am suppose to be doing right now.  seeing the world.  experiencing life.  i saw some of the most beautiful places this trip.  we went to taxco (tas-sko) mexico.  a town built into a side of a mountain, a big mountain, where the main industry is silver.  i bought SO much there.  all unique pieces, stuff that if imported into the US, would cost a fortune.  i was also able to see a couple of pyramids, and the cities built with them.  unbelievable.  as i stood atop the sun pyramid, climbed all 200+ steps to get to the top, i wanted to time travel, to witness how it was.  these were simply amazing!

florida sunshine June 22, 2008

its been a while.  i have been traveling since june 5th.  i went to florida for a long weekend to see my sister and family.  also to witness my brother-in-law promoted to commander of a test pilot squadron.  very cool thing.  his new job and the ceremony.  then there was beach time and sunshine!

  so i have been here 5 days, 6 days.  and i’ve done the following -

-shopped orchard road ( big time shopping strip)
-visited Clarke Quay (big time club strip by the river – huge tourist attraction)
-visited & ate in Boat Quay (big time restaurant wheel-n-deal strip by the river … a $200 US dinner was about $15 per person for 5 people after we ‘bargained’ a 30% discount and a free pitcher (or jug) of beer and a bottle of wine!)
-visited Harry’s jazz bar in Boat Quay – live jazz music
-visited Crazy Elephant in Clarke Quay – again live music – seat by river.

memories February 24, 2008

leaving friday for singapore.  will be there exactly 14 days.  will spend the majority of the 14 days in the office.  however, that time and the after work time, will be captured in this:

my original plan was to bring my full size journal.  but its big and heavy and would have just gotten in the way.  while at barnes and noble on friday night, i was browsing the journal section, figured why dont i bring a little one.  can be for singapore only.

i love barnes and noble.  i always have the greatest epiphanies while i am there.

a couple of shots of Niagra Falls, Canada.  Crappy day – raining and cloudy and cold, though would go back to see it again…the sound of the falls is amazing…relaxing in a way.  The view, no matter where you are at, is beautiful.
